The first week in Salem has not been too tough. Tahoe and I pulled into Salem at 11pm on Monday night after 11 hours in the car. Tuesday, we woke to some misty weather, but it did not stop us from unpacking the car and breaking open the boxes of clothes. I went to Target to fill my kitchen cabinets, stopped at a furniture store and walked out of there with a sofa, loveseat, oversized chair and ottoman. We headded up to Portland to hang out with the family up there and came back to Salem that night. Wednesday was ho-hum, but the cable and internet were hooked up that morning, so at least we were not left to watch Toy Story and Emma for the third time each. Back to Portland that night and back to Salem after that. My moving truck arrived early on Thursday, along with all the boxes and the usual headaches. I was never told by the company that they did not take American Express, so my coporate account was a no go. James and Tony were so nice about everything and they even waived the stair surcharge I was never informed about. Thursday, Friday and most of Saturday were spent going through boxes. My furniture arrived on Saturday and the family came over and enjoyed a quick game of Mario Party 4. So far today, Tahoe and I have set up my room and she has napped the day away while I watch the boats go by on the river.
These are some lazy days. That's why I have to go to work tomorrow.
